The Zahrbock Funeral home of Madison, announces the death of 90 year old VaLoris Zahnow a  resident of Madison who passed away on Wednesday, Sept 1, at the Madison Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30, Tuesday, September 7 at St. John's Lutheran Church.  Rev. Steven Frank will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday afternoon at the Zahrbock funeral home in Madison with a prayer  service at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. Visitation will continue before services on Tuesday at the church.
VaLoris Zahnow is survived by daughter Ardith (Joe) Messicci of White Bear Lake, MN; 3 sisters-in-law LuVerne Putzier of Marietta; Elnore Kostad of Willmar; Gertrude Zahnow of Maple Grove, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Auxiliary members, please meet at the church on Tuesday to form an honor guard.


Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of Sherman Jurgens, age 86, of Wilmot.  Sherman Jurgens died September 4th at the Wilmot Care Center.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona.  Rev. Glenn Schultz will officiate and burial will be in the Garfield Lutheran Cemetery, near Corona.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Mundwiler Faith Chapel in Wilmot and continue at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
        Sherman Jurgens is survived by his wife, Arlene of Wilmot; one son: Mark Jurgens and Sue Cramer of Wilmot, SD; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister: Rosalie Jurgens of Wilmot; one sister-in-law: Ellen Jurgens of Wilmot, SD.

The Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville announces the death of 86 year old Roger Swanson of Ortonville.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 10:30am at the First English Lutheran Church of Ortonville.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. 
He is survived by daughter Karen Lynne Swanson of Ortonville, MN and Tim (Beth) Swanson of Ortonville, MN, two grandchildren Austin and Lauren Swanson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are to go to Ortonville Library, Big Stone County Food Shelf, Big Stone County Salvation Army and Big Stone Health Care Foundation.

Steve Moberg will officiate and burial will be in the Wilmot Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Mundwiler Faith Chapel in Wilmot and continue at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
