South Dakotans who want to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti can make donations at any local American Red Cross office, by going online to www.redcross.org or calling 1-800-733-2767. Cell phone users also can donate $10 by texting the word "Haiti" to the number 90999. $10 will be automatically added to your phone bill and that money will go directly to the Red Cross.

CRIME STOPPERS
THE MILBANK POLICE DEPARTMENT IS INVESTIGATING TWO BREAK-INS THAT OCCURRED SOMETIME BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10 PM AND 4 AM, MONDAY FEBRUARY 1ST. ACCORDING TO MILBANK POLICE CHIEF BOYD VAN VOOREN, MIDWEST POWER SPORTS AND QUICK PRO LUBE WERE BOTH BURGLARIZED. ACCESS INTO BOTH LOCATIONS WAS GAINED BY BREAKING INTO DOORS LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDINGS, WITH AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH TAKEN FROM EACH. ACCORDING TO CHIEF VAN VOOREN, THIS INCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION. ANYONE THAT MAY HAVE SEEN ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY MONDAY NIGHT IN THE AREA OF EAST HIGHWAY 12, OR WHO MAY HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THESE BREAK-INS IS ASKED TO CONTACT THE MILBANK POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 432-5650.
