SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Police in Sioux Falls say a woman and young child were injured in a Labor Day attack. Officers and emergency medical workers responded to a report of a stabbing yesterday afternoon. A woman and young child were taken to a hospital, and a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.
WAGNER, S.D. (AP) — Three people suffered minor injuries when two horses ran into Labor Day parade spectators in Wagner. Officials reported that two horses pulling a wagon were startled by something and ran into some spectators yesterday. The three injured people were treated at a hospital and later released.
ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Fire caused heavy damage to an Aberdeen home while the residents were away camping. The blaze was reported around midnight yesterday. Aberdeen battalion chief Kevin Van Meter told the Aberdeen American News that the fire started on the back deck. He says a propane tank on the deck probably exploded. The investigation continues.
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — An Eagle Butte man accused of choking and kicking a woman at a house in north-central South Dakota faces several federal charges. The four-count indictment against Charles William Moran includes an assault with intent to commit murder charge. The charges stem from an incident last December near Eagle Butte.
