INITIATIVES
The employment unit engaged in the following broad outreach initiatives in accordance with various elements of FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(2):
Established an internshipprogram designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment.
We offered a paid intership of 100 hours to a High School Junior or Senior who has an interest in any aspect of broadcasting. Sales, News, Sports, Computer.
Due to the extreme interest in a career in broadcasting by the intern, the internship this year was expanced to a total of 400 hours. Most of these were paid and the intern experienced a wide range of broadcast career experiences. We hired this intern as a full time employee on 11/27/12.
